Lunch Date

Look at my hot lunch date!

I know I'm a lucky woman!!

Jacob and I went to Brugglers to spend a free bagel coupon I had. He was sooooo excited about it (its like I never take him anywhere!) It was yucky and rainy here... the perfect break for our day.

After he downed half of the bagel, he ate the applesauce I brought. Except he has recently been on spoon strike and decided the best way to eat applesauce is drinking it. Grrr... it was all over! I've learned that 2yr olds are very hard to reason with!

Sleepy boys

Apparently 30min of boxing on my bed finally wore them out! They decided to cool down to some "Go Diego Go" before bed.

Its Bball Time!

It was a weekend of friends and sports at the Edwards house. Of course we all watched the super bowl last night, Congrats to the Saints. But there is nothing like watching sports live. Its definitely a fav activity for our fam.
Friday night we went to Lipscomb Bball game with some friends. Jacob was in seventh heaven. Thanks to our friend Cam we were sitting right behind the bench. BIG FUN!

Jacob was totally mesmerized by the band. He said, "mommy I see the horns!"

This is Jacob and his friend Jayda. They refused to smile at the same time or while I was taking the pic. They were having a blast together... between the two of them they downed a whole box of popcorn and a bag of fishy crackers! Nothin like refreshments at a game.

GO BISONS!! Gotta Support the home town squad!

Snow will make any day great!!!

I'm in love with snow!!! This time we got a real snow in TN... 3"-4"! Its just so exciting. Here is our snow story. It all started when Jacob was still not looking like he felt good Thurs. night. He had been a few days without a fever but he still wasn't looking great. Then Thurs. night he literally cried almost all night long. Sufficed to say we were pretty worried at about the 1:30am mark. At 7:00am I was calling the doc to see if they could get us in. Luckily they got us in at 8:50 and of course Jay has another ear infection. Poor kid must have been in pain.

Its a good thing they got us in early (and Charles took a sick day) because by the time we got his medicine and headed home it was snowing and the roads were getting messy. Due to the fact no one here can drive in snow there were already fender benders all over the place at like 11:30am!

So it snowed all day Friday and after a nap and allot of medicine we just had to go out in the snow!

We love snow!!!

Daddy feet and Jacob feet

Jacob looked at me after about 5min and goes "its too coldy!" Haha, in our excitement over real snow we probably jumped the gun in bringing him out. So after a great night sleep, and more medicine we were at it again this morning with much better results!

Jacob heard daddy talking about shoveling the driveway and wanted to help. He made me go get his shovel.

Check out all this snow I shoveled!

Yummm, the best part about playing in the snow is the hot chocolate afterwards!!!

Boys and Toys!

So, with a little bit of Motrin in his system Jacob was sooo excited when daddy got home the other night. (apparently I'm just not as fun) About 5 min after Charles got home I'm in the kitchen thinking they are in the bedroom while Charles changes from work clothes, but I walk in and they are playing PlayStation. Haha, what is it with boys and video games!! Boys are hardwired to enjoy them thats for sure.

When I walk in the room Jacob very joyously tells me... "mommy I be naked boy! I play bideo dames!!" What a boy, enough said.

Thankfully it looks like Jacob finally broke his fever. Hopefully we will be back to our normal schedule by tomorrow!!

Pizza Pizza!

My son is a terrible eater. That said, he decided that he did NOT want the pizza that I had cut up for him the other night. He looked at Charles and said "I want the big piece daddy!" So Charles ate his little ones while Jacob tried his best to eat daddy's big piece. As long as he is eating I dont care how messy it gets or what the size is!

Unfortunately just hours after Pizza he popped a fever. Apparently my son is prone to high fevers because last night it spiked to 104.7! Yes, we were ever so close to taking him to the hospital. But thanks to lots of drugs, a bath and the nurses at Vandy's Children's Hospital it finally came down. Apparently a virus the Doc says. I have a pretty puny boy today after that!

Never a dull moment with a 2 year old

I'm pretty sure my son hasn't stopped talking since he turned 2! He is a constant stream of words and funny things. (well and not so funny things to, he has mixed in a few tantrums and shoving friends.)
Jacob escaped while I was trying to put on his PJ's. I got out into the living room and he is on the coach telling me "Mommy I need a blanket!... Mommy I need a pobow (pillow)." The cute boy laying on the 'pobow' lasted for about 45sec. and he was off the next thing.

This is Jacob watching the Eagles game the other night...Pj's hitched up, froggy boot that comes to him knee so he cant walk in them, and huge jersey that goes down to his ankles.

Snow Day!

Nashville finally got its 'big' snow of the winter!!! We got a whopping 1/4." Sad but true... You better believe we were playing in it though!

Jacob was very concerned about his 'dirty' snow hands. At this point in the playing it was about 17 degrees outside, with a wind chill of probably 7... but its not everyday you get snow in TN.

Daddy was having soooo much fun in the snow. My cute Philly boy.
We decided to take a snow break to grocery shop and ended up going to Moe's instead. As we were driving over Jay says, "Mommy we go welcome to Moe's." Haha how can you say no to that?!

New Year

Alright, I've been putting off posting because I couldn't think of anything positive to say about 2009. It wasn't feeling like one of the better years in my book. Until last night when I read Jacob the book, "The Day Jimmy's Boa Ate the Wash." The book is hilarious, here is how the beginning goes:

"How was your class trip to the farm?"
"Oh... boring...kind of dull... until the cow started crying."
"A cow... crying?"
"Yeah, You see a haystack fell on her."
"But a haystack doesn't just fall over...."

The little girl goes on to tell nonchalantly about all these crazy things that happened at the farm that day. I figure I'm something like that about 2009. Haha I mean we bought a house, how bad can it be!
Here are the highlights in pics...

Jacob started walking!! Tons of trips to the park... and Jacob with almost no hair! (now if takes me 30min to brush out!)

We bought a house!!!

Many trips to the Bicentennial Fountains, concerts in the park, lots of summer fun!

4th of July with great friends!

Jacob's first bowl of ice cream. It was so good he had to double fist the spoons.

Jacob's first trip to the Zoo.

Charles coaching youth football.

Spending a whole week in Philly!!! (its the longest we've ever been able to stay!)

Jacob turned 2!!!

Well, these two guys are the highlight of ever year for me!! I can't live without them!

I guess 2009 wasn't so bad after all...

Christmas Morning

I took mostly video footage Christmas morning. I wont bore you with most of it because its Jacob taking every single present out of his stocking. This is what our Nana and Grandpa game us for Christmas. Its a Hess race car. For those of you that don't know Hess, its a gas station in the north east that puts out a different car or truck every year. They are collectors items. This was the favorite present of Christmas. It lights up, makes sounds and the little car inside in a pullback racer. Jacob played with it so much he already wore out the batteries!

Christmas Eve

I'm finally getting my Christmas pics up. We had a wonderful Christmas. 2 year olds are REALLY fun at Christmas time. Christmas Eve we baked cookies for Santa. Such a blast. I am still finding sprinkles all over the place!

I really don't let Jacob have sugary desserts very often so to say the least he was in heaven! It was after his bed time and he was watching The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, eating his cookie. Gotta love Christmas time!

2 Year B'day!!!

After a busy week of Birthdays at our house I'm finally getting a chance to put up some pics.

We just had a small family birthday at our house for Jay. Its kinda tuff having your birthday right by Christmas.

Sorry everyone but Aunt Molly won the present of choice with Lightning McQueen slippers!!! He has slept with them every night since he got them!!

My son is obsessed with the movie cars and here he is with his new Cars characters and his slippers watching the movie.

Some Family Lovin

Here are some random family pics from the last few months that my sis sent me...

Jacob loves Aunt Molly's stuffed Monkys.
Jacob and his cousin Epiphany watching wonder pets together.

Poppa's house is soooo fun! There are balls everywhere!!

I love my Honey!

This is my favorite pic...my cute fairy neice! It looks like Jacob is thinking "would you get off the bike, I cant ride with all that tule back there!"

Remembering What Matters

OK so just in case you are a ball of stress like me this Holiday season... Here is a good reminder of what matters. We have a dead car so Jacob and I were stuck at home on Friday. My fun sister called me up and we decided to have an impromptu baking day! It was sooo much fun, and a good reminder that spending time with ones you love is something to be very thankful for this Holiday season!

Jacob was our little elf helper. He wants to stir EVERYTHING!

We got festive with Santa hats and Christmas music while we cooked.

Haha Jacob had just woken (is that a word?) up from his nap and this point and was grumpy. He was not to the jolly reindeer point yet!

But he perked up as soon as Aunt Molly gave him a tray full of muffins! His favorite thing in the entire world to eat!!

I forgot to take a final pic, but here was some of the damage we did. We made my dad very happy with his favorite molasses cookies, and made double batches of pumpkin bread (muffins) and pound cake muffins.

Very Serious Conversation

Isn't this a cute pic. This is my dad 'poppa' and Jacob. I have no idea what they were talking about, but they were conversing about something very serious for like 5 minutes. Jacob was so involved in the conversation that even the flash of the camera didn't interrupt!

Hello from Rudolf

Can you believe you are geting another post from me! I know, amazing... I'm trying to turn over a new bloging leaf before New Years!

We have finally recovered from our stint out of town. My house is 'clean' and decorated for Christmas!!! Its so fun to decorate a house thats mine this year! We went to see all the Christmas lights at the Oprey Land Hotel this weekend and of course I forgot my camera. Really a pitty since I had Jacob looking all Chritmassy. Oh well. He was thrilled to see the 'socks' better known as stockings, hanging from the ceiling.

Here is a little Chistmas love from Rudolf for ya!
