Pumpkin Head

Jacob always tries to put stuff on his head... cereal, laundry baskets, or in this case pumpkin buckets. Strange boy!

Here are some of the latest happenings in Jacobs world:
- yesterday morning he greeted his wiener when he woke up "hi weinor" (I was trying really hard not to die laughing)
- he is counting to 10
- Hugging me and saying "I wub (love) you Mommy" he has probably figured out I will give him just about anything after that.
- he had his first real chocolate chip cookie... (yes mommy is mean and tries to keep him out of too much sugar)
- He picked a tomato (mado) in papa's garden and assumed it was a ball and wanted to hoop it
- gets in a three point stance and says "ready, set, go!" then runs across the room. (daddy is really proud of that one)
- He is also having extensive conversations with his stuffed animals when he gets in bed to sleep.

I'll make sure to get some pics this weekend of our fabulous Halloween costume! Maybe you will even get to see his daddy's... you will die I promise!!

Gotta Love a Hat

Life has been crazy here so I havnt had alot of extra time to post. I picked up a new job at the local YMCA and am working crazy shifts so blogging has been a back burner item. Plus in the midst of that we are finishing pu a football season and Jacob picked up some weird viral infection in his tummy. Not so happy.

I had to share these cute pics of my boys in their hats. Jacob was soooo excited when he realized that he and daddy had matching 'wed' hats.

Fumble!

The original purpose of this video was to get Jacob cheering on the Phillies since they are on their way back to the World Series!!!!! Haha, but I never could get him to say it. It turned out cute anyway. I will warn some of you, its sorta long... sorry!

Very Short Road Trip

Friday we packed up the car with my parents (Honey and Papa) and headed to NC for a good friends wedding. Charles had a football game Saturday so it was just Jacob and I. After a nice 5-6 hr. Drive we stoped at a friends house In Hendersonville NC to spend the night before heading into Charlotte the next day for the wedding.

It was a great drive and we had a fun night hanging out (above is papa's version of a booster seat... Jacob was thrilled). Then at about 3:00am Jacob woke and had a very hard time going back to sleep. Finally at 5am I got him up and took his temp. 103.0...great. So I give him Tylenol and try to figure out what we are going to do with our day. Well, to make a long story short his temp continued to rise to a whopping 104.6, very scary. When we finally got the temp to drop a little we decided the trip was over and got in the car to head back to Nash. So sad. Sick baby, no wedding... The weekend was a total bust.

Here is Jacob sick on the way home. We kept him naked all the way home to keep his temp down. Thankfully his temp was almost normal by the time we got home. Then of course the next day he was acting fine. Kids! It was a disapointing weekend but we are very thankful Jacob got better so fast.

Very Busy Boy

Jacob is in an incredibly busy stage right now. No more time to smile for mommy's camera!
We are having alot of fun with trucks right now. Which is nice because they are wonderfully portable toys for evenings at the football fields. One of the very exciting things about being at football practice is the fire station is right next door so every once in a while we get to see the fire trucks pull out of the garage with all their lights on! Every night on our way home as we pass the fire house Jacob tells the fire trucks bye-bye or night-night.

E A G L E S Eagles!!!

For those Eagles fans out there you will be proud of the fact Jacob knows the cheer!(I'll try to get it on video at some point) Charles is one proud daddy I can tell you that. :) Buying Jay an Eagles and Titans jersey wasn't really in the budget this year so we improvised. I knotted my eagles jersey on him and rolled up the sleeves. It actually worked pretty well. We will just focus on the Eagles for now since my Titans and looking AWFUL at the moment!

My friend Jayda

Here is Jacob and his friend Jayda. She is about 10 Mo. younger than him but definitely hold here own. :) They were cracking me up sitting in between their dads on the couch. Jacob was trying to show her how to open the little peek-a-boo flaps in the books, and Jayda was determined to do it herself. You can tell by the pics she has the upper hand. Haha, girls, we are so bossy!

Honey Love

Last week my mom, 'Honey,' droped by our house for a visit. Jacob was totally thrilled! Haha usually we are at Honey's house, so Jacob was so excited when she showed up at our door just in time for a fishy snack. :)

yikes its been a while!

I have let life sweep me up and haven't been blogging at all lately! Sad... but I'm back. Thankfully a friend reminded me its been like two weeks! We have been very busy with football lately. Jacob is having an absolute blast with daddy coaching. Haha it means he gets to go run around a football field almost every night! This was Jacob at the game Saturday.

Happily eating his apples... it was the only time I could get him to sit still for a sec. Unfortunately all the time at the football field around germy kids took its toll despite my Purell and he came up sick Sat. afternoon. Luckily he is doing better today.

Here are some cute pics of he and daddy coloring together yesterday. Jacob was way more excited about coloring with daddy than mommy... I told Charles to watch out, Jacob will have him doing craft projects yet!

Never to early to culture a kid

Every year one of the big parks here does a month of Shakespeare In the Park. So we decide you are never to young to experience some Shakespeare and we take Jacob. Last time I went was high school and apparently its become much much more popular since then! I was thinking we would just through our picnic blanket down and jay would have fun rolling around and playing on it during the play... no such luck. There were sooooo many people all we could get were seats on the bleachers. As you can imagine that didn't last to long. But not to worry on the other side of the park was a live band and swing dancing... Jacob loved that!

Walking in Memphis

Well not really... but we listened to the song. I wish we were in Memphis with my friend Kat who lives there, but instead we spent Friday night at the park listening to Memphis Rock and Blues. Very fun. Nashville is never short on good music.

Jacob did a little dancing and allot of football playing.
The park is never boring... Daddy tackled, but Jacob didn't fumble!!

The Animals at the Zoo

Charles recently started coaching a youth football team that will be taking alot of his time on Saturdays. Thus, we decided this Saturday would be our last good chance to take Jacob to the zoo this summer. I have to say, the Nashville zoo sucks! I was completely spoiled by the Albuquerque zoo, its fantastic. (go figure) Nashville doesn't have any bears, gorillas, penguins, seals, hippos, leopards.... etc. Jacob did enjoy the animals even if mom and dad were somewhat disappointed in the variety.
The first zoo highlight was the Meerkats. They are really east to see because they come right up to the side of the glass enclosure. Jacob was dancing and squealing he was so excited about them.

The biggest highlight of the zoo was the goats that you could pet! Jacob was thrilled... he fed one cute little goat a leaf and then brushed the other. I think he would have liked to stay and brush the goat all day, forget about the other animals!

Of course we also picnicked which is always fun. Honestly the rest of the animals were far less exciting than the goats and the meerkats. The animals are in really large cages so it was hard for Jacob to see alot of them. All in all though a great way to spend Saturday!

America's Past Time

Here is a little more baseball in the Edwards house for ya! This was about the 3rd time we had a big baseball game in our basement (of course my camera was missing the first two times). Unfortunately, you missed Charles doing jumping jacks every time Jacob hit the ball in the first game, but this was pretty cute to.

Lil J Ro? Shane Vic?

What do you think... maybe he will play for the Phillies one of these days?? :)

He was very very proud of the baseball glove on his hand!

Yummmm Ice Cream!

Against my better judgment I let Jacob eat chocolate ice cream with me tonight! I basically couldn't say no when he plopped down in my lap with a spoon saying, "ceem, spoon!" so we sat eating ice cream together, very fun. Somehow the eating Ice cream together turned into Jacob eating ice cream with both spoons. Haha, he was so happy I didn't even stop him (I'm sure his pajama pants with never recover). I am absolutely sure that is by far the most sugar my son has had in his whole life!

1st Bowl of Cereal

Here is the video of Jacob eating his first bowl of cereal with daddy. Charles dad has a great pic of Charles eating a huge bowl of cheerios when he was a little older than Jacob... both my boys love cereal!

Bubbles, Blankets and Western Honky Tonk

One of our favorite things to do in the summer is take advantage of the numerous free concerts that happen in parks around Nashville. There are allot of them! An advantage to living in music city I guess. This past Friday we decided to stay right in our neck of the woods and go the concert in our neighborhood park.

I have been meaning to check it out but we just hadn't done it yet. Ok, so typically I check what type of music is playing and this time I didn't. Funny because it ended up being western Honky Tonk. We are not really into any type of County music... however I figure its good to expose Jacob to every type. It was an absolute blast even though the music wasn't my favorite.

They had a bubble machine! What fun... Jacob was in heaven!! He made friends with everyone siting around us, ran around in the grass, and used daddy as a jungle gym. Ahh what Friday night fun. Haha, things do change some once there are kids in the picture!

Some of you might think this picture is not real. However, it is! Charles brought his clippers over to my parents house and asked my mom to cut his hair (he wont let me try again; last time I messed it all up)!! I cannot even explain how funny the banter between the two of them was. When it was all said and done I have to hand it to my mom, she did a pretty good job.

Jacob had no idea what Honey was doing to daddy's head because he was very busy riding his 'horsey' (Aunt Molly) around the kitchen.
