A year in real quick review

I'm a blogging failure! But even if no one reads this blog its great to have a record of life for posterity sake.

i figure I might as well give a picture overview of the past year to catch things up. The biggest change was I took a full time job at Christ Presbyterian Academy, a private school in the area. Jacob changed schools as a result and it was a good and busy year.

Charles football team was one game away for the championship. They did great, Go Steelers!!

Jacob was a Storm Trooper for Halloween... Daddy dressed up to.

Jacob had a Thanksgiving dinner at school, He LOVES his new school!

We spent Thanksgiving with my family and all the cousins. Yep, it was alot of fun!

We spent Christmas in Philly with Charles fam. Nana spoiled us to death!! Jacob is going to think santa only comes to Nana's house from now on I'm afraid. :)

Jacob turned 4 and had a big jump house Birthday party complete with facepainting. I have no idea how I'm going to top that this year.

My little Valentine.

We took a short trip to Memphis for spring break. We went because their zoo actually has polar bears and penguins! Yumm and ate some great BBQ!!

Here we are at Easter! Ha that was a quick year. I hope you notice the smirks on the boys faces. They have the exact same face... they were both pissed I was making them take and easter picture. Lol, I had to get the bowtie!

Ok now that I'm caught up maybe I'll continue... Here's Hoping!

Easter 2011: Family Pic

I think its literally been a year since we took a family picture. That is awful! But true. So with all of us dressed up for Easter I warned my boys in advance that we would be taking some pics. Good heavens that is easier said than done with my three year old son!! He does not like to smile for pics these days!

Handsome in his Easter Suite!

Why am I the only one smiling at the camera??

Making mommy happy, smiling in a pic!

Take a cute pic with me!!

Thank you...

Finally a cute pic of all of us!!

My gosh it took forever to get a family picture! Of course by the time it happened the suite coat was off. I cant blame him to much though, it was pretty hot. We had a great day at my Uncle and Aunts farm. Ill try to post some creak pics tomorrow.

Ice skating with a 3yr old

I cant promise that I'll be better at blogging but since I actually took some pics recently I figured they should go up! I am literally never on the computer these day, hence the lack of pics.

So we went to healthy kid day at Centennial Park a few weeks ago. As is so typical of the south, after several days of weather in the 90's it was freezing and cloudy that day. go figure. But not to worry we had planned on taking advantage of the free ice skating that was going on in conjunction to Healthy Kid day.

Well it was really disorganized and everyone had the times posted wrong. By the time we finally got on the ice Jay was WAY past nap time. Lol, ice skating with a three yr old would probably have been interesting any way, but a napless three yr old, wow! He was not so thrilled to say the least. Charles and I had a blast and decided next time we would go without Jacob. :)

Ice skating is NOT fun!

Daddy loves to ice skate!

I am pretty darn good at ice skating. I totally surprised my husband with my skills!

Finally

Ok so after about 6 months we finally decided to blog. I take that back this is Charles and i just got sick of nothing being on our blog. Well i ton has been going on, for those who don't know Jacob has started to play soccer. 3 year old soccer is funny very funny. They had there first game last weekend and his team won 7-3. At this age its all about just getting the kids on the field. Well Jacob and his Friend Sidney stayed on the field and played pretty much the whole game. They enjoyed it a lot in there win. FYI Jacob scored 4 goals.
After the Game snack. thats all that matter to him.
Jacob and Sidney fighting over the ball. hahaha

Game time

I love to eat snacks after the game.

We won.

Highlights from fall 2010

A constant mantra at our house is "mommy can we paint." Im unafraid of a mess which has its major down sides, but also makes for fun art sessions when your 2. And of course there is nothing like painting in your football undies.

We hope Jacob is aspiring to be like his great grandmother 'Nina,' who is actually an artist.
My kitchen table will never recover from the art that has happened on top of it. water based paint is some what relative.

The majority of our fall was taken up with football (come on people isn't that what your supposed to do in the fall)!! Charles has coached allot of different sports and allot of different team but the Bellevue Steelers youth football has been our fav. He coached 7 and 8 year olds this year which was particularly fun for Jacob. The chant "who are we... STEELERS!" could be heard ringing through out our house all fall. When your 2 you can learn all sorts of great things from big football boys like the word STUPID. Yes, we have been in time out quite a bit from that one. Thanks boys.

Another favorite activity in the Edwards house is cooking! Daddy is the best person to cook with. In our house we believe in wearing safety goggles when you wash potatoes with your spider man wash cloth. :)
As you can tell by the above pictures my son doesn't play with toys. He pretty much wakes up each day asking us "what are we doing, where are we going???" Hmmm, yes he is his fathers son and doesn't handle boredom well.

Big Boy Bed

Big move of the fall was Jacob into a big boy bed!!! He loves it... and who wouldnt love mobility. Last night I had to put him back in it about 7 times. The big boy bed has been much harder than potty training. Go figure!

Lets go PEAY!

I figured since I didn't blog any about our fall I would catch the world up a bit.

One of the big highlights this fall was our good friend, and past club kid Corey came all the way from New Mexico to play soccer at Austin Peay, a nearby University. To say the least we were way excited to see her and watch her play!!!

At the beginning of the game the players threw balls into the crowd and Jacob got a 'Corey Ball.' as he calls it.
Of course we painted up for our girl! Go 18!
Jacob went up to Charles and said, "daddy take a picture of my shirt!"
As you can imagine everyone connected to Austin Peay soccer now knows us. Corey had the only fans with painted shirts. Everyone thought we drove from NM to see her. That would be hard core, but no.
Jacob got to run on the field and by the second game we went to he pretty much knew the whole team and thought he owned the field. Jacob is going to play soccer this spring like his buddie Corey, we are very excited!

Snow Day in December!

Does any one think its funny like me that my blog goes from slippin slide to snow?? Terrible that I haven't blogged in so long but such is life in all of its busyness.

So today we had a wonderful snow day in December (very rarely happens around here). I kid you not when I woke up this morning it was 15 degrees with a wind chill of -1. CRAZY! By the time Jacob and I went outside I think it was a little warmer (I hope).

Its cold but FUN!
Check out mommy's snow angel, pretty good! Apparently snow angels turn out good when you haven't mowed your lawn in a decade. :)

Jacob's snow angel... notice the rain boot. We discovered they double as snow boots well with a few extra pairs of socks!

Drinkin some hot chocolate after the snow. With two bog marshmellows of course!

Such a fun morning!

Slippin Slidin

What is better in the summer than an old school slipinslide! Thank you Nana!! Nana was cleaning out her basement while we were in Philly and we inherited this great toy. Let me just tell you, forget those new fangle slipinslides. This is essetialy just a peice of plastic and you fly down it!!!

We had so much fun! Yes, I was there playing in it to... I just took the pics and didnt make it in any of them.
Jacob could have literaly played in it all day if we let him.

Forget spending money on a water park, this slipinslide was probably just as fun!

Summer is for swimming

I am a firm believer in kids knowing how to swim! That said we spent alot of time in the pool this summer. My son is 100% unafraid of the water (he takes after mom not dad), so we have to be quick in the water these days

He is getting better at his swimming... but unfortunately he has figured out he can be lazy if he has swimmys on.
Honey and Piph (his cousin) are two of his favorite people to swim with!

Eating popcorn with Piphy and Oliver. Snack time only lasted for like three minutes and Jay was ready to get back in the water.

Lol... a boy after my own heart, a jet ski and crab goggles!

Love him!

While Jay was with Nana, Charles and I enjoyed being a part of a good friend's wedding. We had a great time dancin and having fun together. One of Charles good friends that he grew up with took this pic for us. Isnt she great! If you live in OH she is worth calling up for photo work!
